Wood-fired bliss at Pizzeria Dei Compari in Montreal

I was attracted to this restaurant by the scent of mushrooms, cheese and baked bread. When I finally reached the restaurant entrance, I was envious of all those people eating fresh pizzas.

I decided that I would join them.

My partner in crime and I sat somewhere on the terrace and watched the chef knead the dough to a thin base before adorning it with toppings and popping it into the oven.

I couldn’t wait.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that the service was rude, but it was blasé and lacking any kind of warmth.

The food arrived within 15 minutes of our order - a decent wait time considering that the restaurant was packed.

Both pizzas were delicious. I was full after eating half so I’ll pace myself and share a pizza the next time I come here.

All in all, it was a good experience and I would totally come back here. I just won’t get upset over the dodgy service - it’s not worth it.
